Okay, so you've heard enough of how good fresh juice is for your body and mind and now you are convinced of the wisdom of juicing. However, you've looked at a few juicers and they seem to be somewhat pricey for your frugal nature and besides you all ready have a perfectly good blender so you find yourself asking why can't I simply use to blender to make fresh juice instead of buying a juicer?
Actually you can. However, keep in mind that using a blender to make fresh fruit and vegetable juice is going to take a lot of work and in the end, you are going to get a watered down version of that fresh produce as you will need to add water in order to turn that produce into juice using a blender. Here are the steps that it will take to produce a glass of juice or two using a blender.
· Preparation. While you need to prepare your produce when making juice using either a juicer or a blender when you use a blender you need to cut your produce into incredible small pieces before you can even think of rendering the juice from it.
· Add Water and Produce. Once you have prepared your produce you then add it and some water to blender. You will likely need at least one cup of water for each ½ cup to cup of produce.
· Run Several Minutes on Low speed. You then turn your blender on and run it on pulse or low speed for several minutes while the produce gets broken down and begins to mix with the water.
· High Speed. Once the produce is broken down you then need to turn the blender to high to thoroughly mix the produce and the water.
· Straining Your Juice. Once everything is thoroughly mixed you will then need to strain your juice to remove the pulp. You will need to use something like a cheese cloth and use a lot of elbow grease to get the last drop of juice from the pulp.
· You may then to stir your juice before drinking.
With a juicer all you need to do is cut your produce small enough to fit through the chute. Put the fruit in the juicer and turn it on. The pulp will become separated from the juice as the juicer runs, and all you will need to do is remove the pulp and dispose of it, and drink your juice.
In addition to the fact that juicer saves a great deal of time and energy, the juice you get will be pure juice from the produce not a watered down version of the juice. Therefore you will be getting more vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, as well as a better tasting juice.
While Juicers do create better and tastier juice that doesn't mean that your blender doesn't serve a purpose as you can use your blender to create smoothies and even slushies if you so desire. And if you aren't quite sure if juicing is for you, then go ahead and try making juice in your blender it will at least give you some idea if you would enjoy a glass or two of fresh juice or a regular basis.
